SELUGAS leadership structure

Leadership & Member Roles

Per the SELUGAS constitution, the Association is governed by elected leaders and supported by all members. Below is every role, its duties, reporting line, term, and portal access level.

Executive Leadership

Chairman

The principal officer and chief spokesperson of the Association.

Reports to: General Assembly

Term: 2 years (renewable once)

Duties

  • Chair and open all meetings
  • Represent SELUGAS in official matters
  • Sign off on key decisions and resolutions
  • Custodian of the Association seal and assets

Vice-Chairman

Deputises the Chairman and acts in their absence.

Reports to: Chairman

Term: 2 years (renewable once)

Duties

  • Support the Chairman in all duties
  • Step in and chair meetings when the Chairman is absent
  • Oversee ad-hoc committees

Secretary

Chief records officer of the Association.

Reports to: Chairman

Term: 2 years (renewable once)

Duties

  • Record and distribute meeting minutes
  • Manage official correspondence
  • Maintain the member register and constitution
  • Issue notices of meetings

Member

A registered, active participant of the Association.

  • Access the member portal and records
  • Stand for leadership when vacancies arise
  • Receive welfare support when eligible
